History

The Troy Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  We were founded in 1971 and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2021.  We are honored that the City of Troy issued a Proclamation in Recognition and Appreciation of the Troy Garden Club on our 50th Anniversary.  Click on the link to view the official document.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Troy Garden Club is to bring together those who are interested in home gardening so that they may learn better horticultural practices, promote civic beauty, conserve natural resources, promote the purposes of the Michigan Division of the WNF&GA, as well as share their knowledge and experience with others.  Our parent organization is the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association (WNF&GA).

Annual Garden Walk

Since 1975, the Troy Garden Club has organized and sponsored a July garden walk.  The event is the club's major annual fundraiser, whose purpose is to generate funds to support the horticultural endeavors of organizations and individuals.  You'll find more information on the Garden Walk page.

General Meetings

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at noon, September through June, and include a light lunch.  Presentations by local garden speakers begin at 1 pm.  Guests are welcome, but meetings in June and December are for members only.  The current guest fee is $10.00 per meeting.  Guests are encouraged to register in advance by sending an email to troygardenclub@yahoo.com.  Our monthly meetings are held at the Big Beaver United Methodist Church, 3753 John R Rd., Troy, MI  48083 (approximately 3/10 mile north of Telly’s Nursery).
